Microsoft delivers more firmware updates for the Surface Pro 4

Microsoft is rolling out a suite of firmware and driver updates for the Surface Pro 4 today, which includes a new power slider in the battery indicator. With it, you can adjust your power modes, from anywhere between best battery life and best performance.

The report of the updates comes from Windows Central, as neither the Surface Pro 4 Update History page nor the Surface Pro 4 Drivers and Firmware page have been updated. In other words, there"s no way to find a specific changelog yet, or download the updates manually.

We do have the full list of updates though:

  • Surface driver update for Surface Management Engine

  • Surface driver update for Surface Embedded Controller Firmware

  • Surface driver update for Surface UEFI

  • Surface driver update for Surface Pen Pairing

  • Microsoft driver update for Surface Accessory Device

  • Marvell Semiconductor, Inc. driver update for Marvell AVASTAR Bluetooth Radio Adapter

  • Intel Corporation driver update for Intel(R) HD Graphics 520,

  • Marvell Semiconductor, Inc. driver update for Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller

  • Intel(R) Corporation driver update for Intel(R) Display Audio and Surface driver update for Surface Integration

Unfortunately, it"s not surprising that Microsoft would release a series of updates without documenting them on websites that exist for that very purpose. The company does this all the time, and since today is Friday, it could be next week before it bothers to tell us what got fixed.

What is surprising though is the timing of this update, as the last firmware for the Surface Pro 4 was made available only about a week and a half ago.
