Microsoft’s download center has been redesigned and the new look is now live on the site. The new site, while a refreshed look for the download center, will not look all that new as Microsoft has now ported over the Microsoft.com design to the download center.
The look has the Metro design language incorporated into the layout and also places a Bing search bar at the top center. The redesign, by all means, continues on with the Metro look and feel that Microsoft is bringing to every aspect of its products.
Also along with the redesign, Microsoft tweeted that the site receives 1 billion visitors annually. This breaks down to about 114K visitors per hour.
For Microsoft, the Metro design language is the new way forward. If they have a product out now that does not currently encompass this design mentality, you can bet that the next revision will adopt this formatting. Windows 8 will not be left out either; we have already seen some indications of Metro in the recent leaks.
