Microsoft is working on a bunch of new features for its Edge web browser. The new features include the ability to sync payment information across devices, bulk delete saved passwords and a couple of enhancements to the PDF viewing experience.
Recently, Microsoft added a bunch of new entries to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap. In the upcoming Edge version 90 update, Microsoft will scan the Windows Clipboard for relevant information like name, phone number, address, etc. required to fill a form. The data will then be parsed to Edge and will be shown as autofill suggestions. The company is also working on bulk password delete support which will also roll out with version 90 of Edge. This will allow users to select and delete multiple passwords in on go.
Next up, Microsoft is working expanding the history search function to allow users to search local and synced history. Currently, users can only search the local data but with the new feature, they will be able to search synced browser history as well. This should make finding websites easier as you will not have to remember the device you used to access a particular website.
Furthermore, Microsoft is also working on additional page scaling options while printing webpages and PDFs. These new options include Fit to Page, and Actual size and should improve the printing experience. All these features will be added to Microsoft Edge with the version 90 update which is scheduled to roll out on 15th April 2021 in the Stable channel, with a Beta release planned for March 16.
Apart from the aforementioned features, Microsoft is also working on two features for Edge browser that will roll out with version 92 update later this year. With the Edge 92 release, users will be able to sync their payment information across all the signed in devices. This should further improve the user experience and allow users to access their payment information from any device. Lastly, Microsoft is working on adding page thumbnail to the left pane while viewing PDF files. This will allow users to quickly navigate between pages using those thumbnails.
Both features will roll out to Edge users with the version 92 release which is scheduled to roll out to Edge Stable users on 22nd July 2021.
