Windows Phone users in many more countries can now use the operating system"s built in Bing Audio feature. Today, Microsoft announced 14 additional countries can access Bing Audio, which bring the total number of countries to 22.
The Windows Phone blog states that the new countries are Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, and Switzerland. Bing Audio has already been available in the US for some time, along with Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Just a reminder: Bing Audio allows Windows Phone users to have the device listen to part of a song and then tries to identify the tune after a few seconds. If it does, the app can then link to Xbox Music so that the user can purchase and download the full song from Microsoft"s music service or stream the song if the user is signed up for Xbox Music Pass.
Bing Music also allows people to look at a list of songs the app has identified in the past via Music History, which you can see an example of in the above screenshot.
