Ever since Microsoft started publicly testing its Edge browser that"s based on Chromium, fans of Edge Spartan (classic Edge) have been pushing for feature parity. Today, the company added a heavily requested feature, the Share button.
The feature is available in both the Dev and Canary channels, although it"s rolling out gradually. It doesn"t actually come in the form of a new build, so checking for updates won"t help.
The share dialog does exactly what you"d expect it to, allowing you to share webpages to Cortana, OneNote, Your Phone, or any other app that hooks into it.
Obviously, when building a new browser from the ground up, a key goal is to bring the new product to feature parity with the old product, not making enthusiasts feel like they"re missing out on something by moving to the new one. Today"s change is a step toward that goal. Presumably, when Microsoft feels that it"s close enough, it will release a build in the Beta channel, which has been listed as "coming soon" since day one.
