Microsoft finally fixes print spooler issue for the Windows 10 May 2020 Update

Last weekend, Microsoft acknowledged a bug that caused Windows to fail to print. Unfortunately, this affected all supported Windows versions, including Windows 8.1 and all versions of Windows 10 that got an update on Patch Tuesday. In other words, every version of Windows 10 except for 1511. Earlier this week, the company released new cumulative updates to fix the issue for versions 1909, 1903, 1809, and 1803, but that left everyone else, including those on the latest version of the OS, without a fix.

Now, everyone else on Windows 10 is getting the update. Microsoft is releasing cumulative updates for versions 2004, 1709, 1703, 1607, and 1507. Version 1703 wasn"t originally listed as affected, but that might have been an oversight given that Windows 10 version 1703 is only supported for the original Surface Hub.

Here"s the list of updates:

As was the case with the updates earlier this week, these are not being provided through Windows Update, so if you want them, you"ll have to use the download link above. The only version that"s left unpatched is Windows 8.1, which will probably get a preview of its monthly rollup at some point.
