Last week, Microsoft released Alpha 4 for its upcoming Flight Simulator title, along with the sending out of further invitations for potential participants in the Alpha program. Furthermore, the first among three new partnerships was detailed, while updates to the Flight Simulator SDK were unveiled as well.
In comparison to the plethora of announcements last time around, the blog post this week is decidedly brief. The focus for this development update is yet again the Alpha releases and the Partnership Series, though not a lot of new information has been made available in these departments.
For starters, an upcoming patch for Alpha 4 is in its final testing phase. This should be pushed out to Alpha participants one week from now, on June 25, and that is when full patch notes for the build will be released as well. Not much else is known regarding this update, though Microsoft will also be sending out further invitations for its Alpha program today, so those who have applied should keep an eye out for that.
Moving on, two of the three recently announced Partnership Series updates, namely those regarding the firms NAVBLUE and FlightAware, have each been pushed back a week. Previously, these were supposed to arrive on consecutive weeks, keeping in consideration the partnership announcement with meteoblue last week. As per the new timeline, the NAVBLUE release will arrive on June 25, and FlightAware will be making an appearance on July 2.
This wraps up the Microsoft Flight Simulator news for this week. In the following development updates, we can expect to see more information on Alpha 5 heading our way, as well as a new Feedback Snapshot for Insiders early next month.
