Last week"s update for Microsoft"s in-development Flight Simulator title brought around another phase of invitations for the upcoming Alpha. Moreover, Insiders got an exclusive look at the latest Feedback Snapshot version, as well as a development roadmap preview.
This time around, the focus resides on the general availability of the development roadmap for February and March, giving fans a glance at what to expect going ahead. There is also news regarding a change in schedule for both the next update in the Partnership Series and a couple of episodes of the Feature Discovery Series.
In regards to the latter, its latest episode, the sixth one in this series, has been released in the Insider Area now. To take an in-depth look at the Airports in Microsoft Flight Simulator, you will need to sign up as an Insider first. An interesting change in schedule also sees the releases of Episode 7 - instrument flight rules (IFR) -, and Episode 8 - Multiplayer - being switched. This is because more information regarding the multiplayer aspect (previously supposed to be discussed in Episode 8), is noted to have been increasingly demanded by the community. The multiplayer-centric episode will thus be released on March 12, while IFR will be coming towards the end of next month.
Moving on, the Partnership Series update has been pushed back a week, which means that its appearance will be observed with next week"s update, barring any further delays. Microsoft says the reason for this is "to allow focus on the Episode 6 release".
The major reveal in today"s announcement is the development roadmap for the next couple of months. March brings another SDK update, Feedback Snapshot v3, and perhaps more interestingly, an update regarding the pre-release build timeline. Notably, the roadmap hasn"t been updated to reflect the aforementioned change in schedule for the next two Feature Discovery Series episodes.
At the start of April, Insiders will get a sneak peek at the DR update for May/June, as well as version 4 of the Feedback Snapshot. Moving ahead, there will be a couple more releases in regards to the media, more of the Feature Discovery Series, new partnership announcements, and SDK releases. Stay tuned for the last news update for this month on February 27.
