Microsoft today announced a new Flight Simulator, named just that. It utilizes not only satellite data but also Azure AI to build a world vastly more comprehensive than its predecessors. Microsoft Flight Simulator has been a long-running series, with the first one coming out all the way back in 1982. There wasn"t much else revealed about the game, beyond the trailer embedded above.
Although the Flight Simulator series has been available exclusively on PC for all these years, this new reboot will also be coming to the Xbox One at some point after the PC release, which is slated to be sometime in 2020.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is specifically designed to celebrate flight simulation fans through a focus on the authenticity of flying and visually stunning environments. By revamping our tech, working in close collaboration with the community and pursuing the best partnerships across the industry, we intend to deliver the best-in-class flight simulation experience.
As is the case with all of the other first-party titles from Xbox Game Studios, the new Microsoft Flight Simulator will also be releasing via the Xbox Game Pass.
