Last week, Microsoft revealed the first Feedback Snapshot for its upcoming Flight Simulator title, and also announced that the upcoming Alpha release was in its final testing phase. In this week"s update, the tech giant has stated that the invitation process for the Alpha release is now underway.
The invitations for Alpha are being sent out over a period of one week from January 20-27. Immediately after this, build access emails will be sent to those that have been selected. For those who have not been keeping up with Flight Simulator news in recent weeks, the Alpha release was formerly known as Tech Alpha 2, with Microsoft later opting to switch the name for convenience. So, the latest preview release under discussion is essentially Tech Alpha 2 wave 1.
Furthermore, upon the request of users of the Flightsim subreddit, Microsoft has now allowed the updating of machine spec information starting today. The following steps need to be undertaken to do so:
- Log into www.FlightSimulator.com.
- Select your avatar/name in the upper right corner.
- Select “My Profile”.
- Here you can edit your machine specs and press enter.
With build access dates approaching closer, the unveiling of the latest Partnership Series update and Feedback Snapshot v2 have been pushed back to February 6. To become a prospective preview build tester, you will need to sign up as an Insider, and then choose the "Flighting Signup" option in the top menu bar. The next news update will be arriving at the regular time next Thursday, making it the final one for this month.
