Last month, LINE had announced that it was going to shutter its MixRadio streaming service that it bought from Microsoft in 2014. Sure enough, MixRadio announced earlier this month that it would be offering users just one last mix before they say goodbye.
Microsoft may be looking to patch the wounds of MixRadio customers, as it is now offering an extended trial of its Groove Music service - with 40 million songs that you can play across devices of all sizes and running any of the major operating systems. The way it works it that you get a $10 promo code that you can use to buy one month of service after the normal 30-day trial ends.
The double dose of free music will also be available to those of you who still run Windows 8.1 on your PC and/or Windows Phone 8.1 on your phone, and you can access it in the Xbox Music app. You can cancel the 60-day trial at any time.
With this offer, Microsoft hopes to add more paying customers to its Groove Music service, which goes for $9.99 a month, or $99.90 if you buy a one-year subscription. If you"re wondering what more you get with a paid subscription, the company mentions offline listening, the ability to create your own playlists, and an ad-free experience as key parts of the experience.
If you"re a former MixRadio user, you can check out the offer at the link below:
