Microsoft announced the brand new Microsoft Lumia 650 today, disappointing some that it will only be available in select European markets, at least for now. It would appear that France is one of those European markets, as Microsoft France has released a hands-on video with the new device.
Possibly the most important feature of the Microsoft Lumia 650 is the design. It has a metal frame, a feature that many were clamoring for in the new flagship Lumias, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. Of course, it raises the question, why now and not then?
The Microsoft Lumia 650 features a 1.3 GHz quad core Snapdragon 212, making it slightly more powerful than the Lumia 550. It also features an 8 MP rear camera (featuring Rich Capture), a 5 MP front camera, a 5" 720p AMOLED display, and 16 GB of internal storage, making it a fairly premium phone, with the exception of the chipset.
The Microsoft Lumia 650, which is 6.9 mm thick and 122 grams, making it the same width and a bit lighter than the iPhone 6, is £159.99 at the moment or €229.00 in Germany, but don"t be surprised if the price comes down over time, as lower end Lumias tend to do.
Without further delay, here is Microsoft France"s hands on video with the Microsoft Lumia 650:
