Microsoft Garage, the company"s division behind a variety of experimental and niche apps, has launched a news app for the Xbox One powered by MSN. The app brings personalized video content for the users.
The app, simply known as "Your News", makes it easier for users to find news videos about their interests in an engaging manner. Users can set their preferred topics and choose to receive news from their favorite sources using the app designed for the Xbox One. It is quite easy to add or remove a topic or source from the favorites.
With many TV users switching from traditional cable to internet-connected options, the team behind the app realized the need to provides news in a way similar to the news channels. This led to the creation of the Your News app.
Microsoft Garage already offers a news app for iOS and Android called News Pro, which is powered by Bing. That app also provides personalized content for the users, but unlike the video approach taken in Your News, News Pro"s main focus is on aggregating links to articles.
The Your News app is available from the Xbox Store to download right now for free.
