Microsoft gives away "ugly" Windows 95 sweaters to some lucky fans

Microsoft is no stranger to releasing special clothing items to celebrate its products. At the end of November, the company announced that it would finally be making its Xbox Onesie available for purchase, though we"re still waiting on an actual launch following a sudden delay.

Now, Windows is the focus of another celebratory item. Specifically, Microsoft has announced a new sweater inspired by Windows 95 just in time for the Christmas season. Unfortunately, it doesn"t look like the sweater is actually available for sale. Instead, the company is notifying a few lucky fans on Twitter if they"ve been selected to get one.

Unlike the Xbox Onesie, which features a series of design choices aimed at gamers, such as a large hood to accommodate headsets, the Windows 95 "softwear" is really more of a collectible, offering no practical benefits. Nonetheless, there"s no doubt that many fans will be eager to get their hands on one.

While the availability of the sweater is very limited for now, it could be that Microsoft will be selling it at some point in the future. The Xbox Onesie took two years to be announced as a purchasable item, so anything can happen.
