Microsoft has removed the Core i5 4GB RAM Surface Pro from its Store

Last week, we discovered that Microsoft had a new Surface Pro configuration listed in its online Store, which includes a Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, and a 128GB SSD. What made this interesting was that it comes in at the same price as the previous entry-level Core i5 model, which had 4GB RAM.

As we speculated might happen at the time, the 4GB model has now been removed from the Microsoft Store. If you head over to the listing now, you"ll see that the base model is still the one with a Core m3, 4GB RAM, and 128GB of internal storage for $799, but the entry-level Core i5 model comes in at $999 and includes 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

This is a big upgrade for those that were going to spend a thousand dollars on the new tablet. 8GB is much more of a reasonable amount of RAM for a premium PC, and it will certainly allow users to get more done with better performance.
