Microsoft infographic reveals info on taking laptops on vacation

It"s not officially summer yet in the US but by now most kids are out of school and enjoying their all too brief summer break. Naturally, a lot of families will be traveling on vacation during the summer months. In a new infographic released by Microsoft on the Windows Experience blog, the company talks about a study it commissioned to find out how people use technology while on vacation.

The infographic reveals that 75 percent of the people who were polled plan to take their laptop with them, versus 70 percent for their smartphone. The number one thing people do on their laptop while on vacation is share their adventures on social networking sites. Other top features include gathering information, getting directions, and playing games and movies.

Speaking of movies, Microsoft"s study claims that 57 percent of the people who were polled admit to looking at the screen of another person"s laptop while they are on a plane. The biggest reason for doing so is seeing what movie or TV show that person might be watching.

Overall 90 percent of the people who were polled in this Microsoft study say they plan to spend at least one hour a day on their laptop while on vacation. That"s a lot of time for an activity where technically you are supposed to be getting away from it all.
