Microsoft is bringing Office 365 to the Mac App Store

Apple held its day one keynote for WWDC 2018 today, where it announced the next major versions of iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. The company also announced a redesign of its Mac App Store, and with that, a number of companies that will be bringing their flagship apps to the Store.

Among those partners is Microsoft, which will be bringing its Office 365 suite to the Mac App Store. That means that you"ll be able to download and install the whole suite from the Store with a single click, something that you"ve never been able to do before. In fact, you"ve never been able to download any Office apps besides OneNote from the Mac App Store.

Microsoft only announced its intentions to bring Office 365 to the Microsoft Store (then called the Windows Store), a year ago at Build 2017. Now that this is available, it makes sense for the company to standardize its distribution on other platforms.

Microsoft wasn"t the only partner that Apple mentioned would be bringing its apps to the Mac App Store. Adobe will be on board with Lightroom CC, and Bare Bones Software will make BBEdit available as well.
