Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 is a big deal for the company and the tech world will be watching and waiting to see how many units it can sell during its first month of availability. Being the third generation of a product and the focal point of a new advertising campaign, Microsoft has high hopes for the device.
Considering that the Pro 3 is really an all-new device - even though it carries similar design cues to its predecessors - it deserves a large welcoming the day it goes on sale. And that"s exactly what Microsoft intends to do at every one of its stores: a party for every location.
On the launch day of the Surface Pro 3 - that’s June 20 for those of you who need a reminder - every Microsoft Store will be celebrating the launch of the device with giveaways, "white-glove" pre-order pickup, music, food and more. There will also be a grand prize of a trip to Honolulu, Hawaii for four as well.
In addition to the parties at all of the stores, Microsoft will be holding ‘Surface summer celebration’ events on Saturday, June 28 that will feature themed activities and more giveaways.
While a party at every store is certainly one way to generate attention, we fully expect Microsoft to kick-off a wider media campaign around the launch window as well. The Pro 3 is a key component of Microsoft’s ‘Device and Services’ model and with a launch device of this caliber, there can never be enough pomp and circumstance.
