In 2016, Microsoft debuted a new documentation service, Microsoft Docs, in preview form. The platform is meant to contain technical documentation for all of the company"s services and software products, be it for users, developers, or IT professionals.
Two years later, the platform contains documentation for dozens of Microsoft products, from Windows to Azure to Office apps. And today, the firm is adding even more content to it, as OneDrive technical documentation is moving from TechNet to Microsoft Docs.
The dedicated page for the cloud storage service is made up of four sections, two of which are aimed at IT professionals who may need help with deploying OneDrive and enabling certain features across their organization. There"s also a section for end users, which includes help topics for managing your files, collaborating on Office documents, and more. Lastly, there"s a section for developers, which includes the APIs and other tools for building on the OneDrive platform.
The move is another step towards consolidating information for Microsoft"s products, and it should help bring some more consistency to the way documentation is organized. You can check out the OneDrive section on Microsoft Docs here if you"d like.
