Microsoft is working on an ID & Filter app for Windows 10 Mobile

A report from WindowsBlogItalia says that Microsoft is working on a new ID & Filter application for Windows 10 Mobile.

The app does exactly what it sounds like. It allows you to block calls and texts from selected phone numbers. Presumably, the new app would replace the Block and Filter app that is currently available on Windows 10 Mobile devices.

It also appears that this will be an app that can be found in your All Apps list, whereas currently, the only way to get to it is through the Phone or Messaging apps.

The new app will bring the version number to 10.1505. Here"s the changelog (translated from Italian):

  • New GUI .

  • In the settings you can add the Microsoft Account so you can sync the numbers and options.

  • New options for blocking calls and messages.

  • Added the ability to choose the category of the number to block: advertising, real estate agents, couriers, finance, taxi or other.

There"s no release date mentioned in the report, but it"s likely that Insiders will see it fairly soon.
