Microsoft issues fix for yesterdays updated Windows Phone 8.1 Calendar app

Yesterday we reported that the update for the calendar app for Windows Phone 8.1 introduced a serious bug. The update in question affects version 1.0.14127.246 as shown above. After updating users reported issues that affected just about everyone; as soon as you tried to create a new appointment, the result was that the app crashed; not good.

Earlier today Joe Belfiore took to Twitter to both apologize for the issue, and state that an update is becoming available.

WP8.1 Calendar fix is ready and getting posted to the store. Will take a bit of time to show up everywhere. Sorry for the inconvenience!

That an update is becoming available is the keyword here, it has not propagated to all regions yet, in The Netherlands for example, we are still seeing version .246 at the time of posting. So sometime today 1.0.14127.247 should show up, and if you have automatic updates set on your phone, you may well not need to do anything but wait for the update goodness to do its magic.

You can check if the updated version is already available in your region by clicking here. Those on Windows Phone 8.0 are not affected.
