The Timeline feature on Facebook has replaced the old profile for many of its users and the reaction to Timeline has been mixed since it was first introduced a few months ago. Now, Microsoft has decided to launch a new website that turns a year of a person"s Facebook Timeline into a more graphically rich visual.
The site is called AYearInTheLike.com and accesses a person"s Timeline on Facebook (with the user"s prior permission, of course) to create a full page view of what that person has placed inside their Timeline for the past year. You can take your mouse cursor and move the timeline at the bottom of the screen to scroll past selected messages posted by you and your Facebook friends.
If you click on one of those floating comments, you see all of the posts that you and others wrote for that Facebook time, along with any pictures that you might have commented on. You can even make a movie that"s generated by your Timeline and you can allow the website to create it or you can customize it by picking or not selecting which of your Facebook friends to feature in your Timeline movie.
Finally, the AYearInTheLike.com app can also be shared with other Facebook members along with Twitter followers. It"s certainly an eye opening look back at a person"s past 366 days (+1 for the leap year).
