Microsoft has a bunch of major new software releases to hype today. In addition to Windows 8.1 and Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry, the company has announced that the final releases of Visual Studio 2013, .NET 4.5.1, and Team Foundation Server 2013 are ready for download.
In a new blog post, S. Somasegar, the corporate vice president of the Developer Division at Microsoft, stated:
There are great new features and capabilities in Visual Studio 2013 for every developer, including innovative editor enhancements such as Peek and CodeLens, diagnostics tools for UI responsiveness and energy consumption, major updates for ASP.NET web development, expanded ALM capabilities with Git support and agile portfolio management, and much, much more.
He added that Visual Studio 2013 can be used, naturally, by developers to make apps for the newly launched Windows 8.1.
While technically, the software can now be downloaded by interested customers, Microsoft is still planning on hosting an official launch event for Visual Studio 2013 on November 13th, where it will go into more detail on the new features and improvements in the tools. Prices for the various SKUs remain the same as they did for the 2012 editions, but if a person owns Visual Studio 2012 Professional, they can buy a Visual Studio Professional 2013 Upgrade for just $99 from November 1st to January 31st, 2014.
