Microsoft launched Forza Horizon 3 earlier this year on Xbox One and PC as a follow up to 2014"s Forza Horizon 2. Today, it released additional content for the racing franchise, entitled Blizzard Mountain, which expands gameplay to snowy and mountainous areas of its Australian setting.
Brian Eckberg, community manager for Forza, said in an Xbox Wire post that the the environment is a first for the series and that the new races are specifically designed for this new environment.. He describes how "snow, ice, extreme elevations and blizzards" will bring new challenges to its players who aim to conquer the mountains.
The below trailer for the Blizzard Mountain expansion shows off some of the new setting, visuals and additional gameplay.
Eight new vehicles, including the 2016 Ford GYMKHANA 9 Focus RS RX, Subaru #199 WRX STI VT15r Rally Car, and 1966 Ford F-100 Flareside Abatti Racing Trophy Truck also arrive with this update. In addition, Xbox Live members can try their hand at attaining the 28 new achievements included with the new content.
Blizzard Mountain is available starting today for $19.99 as a standalone purchase. Players can also buy the Forza Horizon 3 Expansion Pass for $34.99, which gives access to two expansion packs at a discount. Existing owners of Forza Horizon 3 Ultimate Edition are further eligible for a $10 discount on this package.
