Microsoft launches more Smoked By Windows Phone video ads

Smoked by Windows Phone continues to be one of Microsoft"s biggest viral marketing hits. The stunt, which began as a one-off stunt at CES 2012, has expanded into a full fledged Internet video ad campaign. Now the official Windows Phone blog site has announced that even more Smoked by Windows Phone videos have been released.

As with the previous videos, the new ads show Microsoft"s Ben Rudolph offering $100 if a person with a competing smartphone can beat him with a Windows Phone device with normal smartphone tasks. One of the videos is a 30 second teaser where Rudolph challenges others to post a simple "Hello" message on Facebook and Twitter faster than he can on a Windows Phone.

The 30 second tease sends you to the Windows Phone Facebook page to see the results. However, you don"t have to head there if you don"t want to because you can see the full two minute video above this post. The video shows Rudolph pretty much crushing the competition thanks to Windows Phone"s Live Tiles feature.

Rudolph shows the contestants how Live Tiles allows him to go to his Start screen, click on one of the tiles and then write and send a message to any of several social networking services all at once.

Hopefully, the new marketing head of Windows Phone, Thom Gruhler, will keep Smoked by Windows Phone going for a while.
