Microsoft lets people verify their Bing Personal Snapshots identities

Earlier this year, Microsoft announced that its Snapshots feature in Bing had been expanded to include more information about certain celebrities and professionals in their information boxes. This week, Microsoft added another feature to the People Snapshot feature in association with Klout.

In a blog post, Microsoft talks about the new feature, called Bing Personal Snapshots. Users begin the process by going to the Klout website and signing in with their Twitter or Facebook account. After that, the Klout page can be connected to a person"s LinkedIn account, and also shows links to their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter profiles. We tried the sign up feature and it was pretty quick and painless. The blog then says that once a person"s own Snapshot has been claimed through this method, they will receive a "verified" badge, although our experience indicated it will take a little while before the badge is confirmed by Klout.

When the Bing Personal Snapshot is verified, it can also show a person"s Top Klout Moments, which Microsoft says will display their most influential Twitter and Instagram posts, at least according to Klout"s standards. Users who are worried about privacy can go into their Klout account to control when these moments show up on their personal snapshot. All in all, this seems like a solid way for users who are heavily into social media to make sure their online persona is an accurate representation of their Internet influence.
