Microsoft makes it easier for small to medium businesses to switch to Office 365

Office 365 has grown rapidly over the past year, and with this growth, Microsoft has been attempting to transition customers from its traditional volume licensing models to the subscription based model of Office 365.

With this in mind, Microsoft is making it more attractive for small and medium sized businesses to switch to the Office 365 platform. As of yesterday, if you’re a customer with 50 to 149 seats, of either Office 365 Enterprise or any of the small business plans, you can now make use of Microsoft FastTrack.

FastTrack is a Microsoft customer service platform, usually only open to businesses with 150+ seats, providing resources and dedicated engineers to assist your business implementation of Office 365 and transition users. Their ultimate goal is to enable you and your business to get as much value from your investment.

A recent Gartner report compared cloud email usage among public companies, to see how Office 365 and Google’s Apps for Work are doing. While the report did find 86.7% of companies still utilised either on-premises infrastructure, private or hybrid cloud options, Microsoft lead the way in all areas, taking 8.5% of the remaining shares, compared to Google’s 4.7%. And it was the larger organizations especially, which preferred Microsoft’s productivity suites.

These numbers are backed up by the 60 million people who are already using Office 365 for work, and the 50,000 SMB organizations who move to Office 365 each month.
