Microsoft makes it easier to switch between profiles on Edge

Microsoft has announced a new change to the profile feature on Microsoft Edge. The feature was first introduced to the browser in 2019 and has since been improved based on user feedback.

Microsoft has now added another feature which should make it easier to switch between multiple profiles on Edge. Called Automatic Profile Switching, the feature will switch between work or school and home profiles automatically. The feature will detect when you try to access a work website using your personal account and will ask you to switch profiles so you could access the website without having to authenticate again. Microsoft has also added a “Don’t ask me again” option in case you don"t want to get the popup every time you visit a particular website. The profile feature currently allows users to manually switch between different profiles as well as set a default profile. You can head to "edge://settings/profiles page" to manage multiple profiles.

The new Automatic Profile Switching feature is available in Microsoft Edge version 83 or higher. Currently, both Microsoft Edge Canary and Edge Dev will support the feature and we expect the company to roll it out to Beta and Stable in the future updates.
