Microsoft may have confirmed build 22621 is Windows 11 22H2 (SV2) RTM release

At the beginning of the month, reports of Windows 11 22H2 (Sun Valley 2) being ready for RTM (release to manufacturing) started doing the rounds and these reports suggested that it was going to happen in May itself, although some other leakers said it could be happen a month later in June.

Windows Central"s Zac Bowden however seems pretty confident that the most recent Beta channel build 22621 is the one which will be final Windows 11 22H2 build for general availability (GA) later in the year. Bowden also adds that Microsoft will be signing it off on May 20th, which is a week away from now.

Windows 11 build 22621 is what Microsoft wants to ship as the final/base build for version 22H2. Sign-off is May 20th. Assuming there are no showstopping bugs found before then, 22621 will be the base build that the public gets later this year.

Interestingly, Microsoft"s Senior Program Manager, Brandon LeBlanc responded to one of the comments on Bowden"s Twitter post and offered no refutation against this rumor indicating that there is a decent chance of it being true indeed.

Features like tabs in File Explorer will show up to Windows Insiders (between the Dev and Beta Channels) when they are ready, we"re not as "release" based as we used to be as we mentioned in this blog post back in February. https://t.co/fWAvvAPZfS

Over on the Windows 11 Dev channel side of things, Microsoft has moved on to Windows 11 Sun Valley 3 already with Build 25115 further suggesting that things are ready to move on to 22H2 now.
