Microsoft might be rebranding Office 365 to Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 is Microsoft"s subscription bundle for businesses that includes Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise Mobility + Security. Late last year, rumors started to emerge that the Redmond firm is working on an SKU for consumers, although it was always unclear what that might include, since a Windows 10 license is included with a PC purchase and EMS is a business product.

Nothing ever came of those rumors, or at least not yet. Various users are spotting Office 365 branding changing to Microsoft 365. Michael Reinders found that his Office 365 ProPlus branding changed to Microsoft 365 ProPlus, a SKU that doesn"t currently exist.

Later, Florian B found that his Office 365 Home subscription is now being called Microsoft 365.

While we never knew what Microsoft 365 for consumers would end up bundling, it seems like it might be a simple rebranding of Office 365. We reached out to Microsoft for comment, and haven"t heard anything back yet. ZDNet"s Mary Jo Foley has though, and a Microsoft spokesperson said, "No, we have no plans to rebrand Office 365 ProPlus to Microsoft 365 ProPlus at this point. Customers can still buy Office 365 ProPlus without Windows and Intune." Of course, that doesn"t explain the changes that seem to be happening.
