When Horizon Zero Dawn launched back in late February, it was one of the most-anticipated games of the year but, being a PS4-exclusive, PC and Xbox gamers were left out. Naturally, expectations were unusually high when Xbox officials claimed to have "a big show" at E3 this year. They were expected to unveil the Xbox One X, née Project Scorpio, with an unannounced AAA title but, that did not happen either. Now, a job listing by a specialist recruiting firm, G3D has indicated that Microsoft may actually be working on an HZD-like title, after all.
The ad which states that the company is looking for a "Lead Environment Artist" for its next AAA title mentions the style of the unannounced game as "similar to Horizon Zero Dawn" and is about two months old. While team Xbox played it safe this year with its first-party titles, there has been murmurs of new games to be announced at the Gamescom this year, where Xbox will be holding a press conference, unlike last year.
Xbox head, Phil Spencer also indicated that the E3 lineup was just the beginning:
This is in keeping with the statements by the Xbox chief post the E3 conference. The company must be taking utmost caution as it wouldn"t want a sequel to the "Scalebound" incident.
