Microsoft names Scott Guthrie as its interim Cloud and Enterprise division head

Before Satya Nadella was named the new CEO of Microsoft, he was leading the company"s huge Cloud and Enterprise division. So, who is taking over that rather important slot now that Nadella is moving up to bigger and better things?

As it turns out, the company decided to promote from within and has named Scott Guthrie as, officially, the interim Cloud & Enterprise Executive Vice President. The news comes from ZDNet who reports that Microsoft sent out an internal announcement on Guthrie"s new job today; Mary Jo Foley believes that the "interim" part of his new title will likely be removed in the near future.

Before today, Guthrie made regular updates on his company blog in his role as VP of application development for Windows Azure and is also well known for his previous work in co-developing ASP.NET,  which he and colleague Mark Anders developed while at Microsoft. Guthrie"s trademark is wearing red polo shirts during keynote speeches at computer conferences. Indeed, his Twitter account has such a shirt as his avatar.
