Microsoft: New Windows 10 Mobile preview "unlikely" this week, but build 10530 was a candidate

While Windows 10 is available for PCs, the smartphone version remains in pre-launch development. Just over two weeks ago, Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Mobile build 10512, its first new Insider Preview release for over a month, after 10166 was made available in early July.

Given that the launch of Windows 10 Mobile is fast approaching, you might have expected Microsoft to be pushing new builds out at a ferocious pace. But the wait for a new build continues - and it looks like the next one won"t arrive until next week.

@sai_patro Okay :-) No new mobile builds today. We were looking at 10530 as a candidate, but want to get one key fix in before we go out.

Responding to an enquiry on Twitter, Microsoft"s Gabe Aul revealed today that build 10530 was a possible candidate for release as the next Insider Preview, but the company still needs to sort out "one key fix" before it"s ready to roll out. Yesterday, Aul tweeted that he is personally using build 10532 on his devices.

But in a further tweet today, he delivered the bad news:

@robert_noord Erring on the side of caution, it"s unlikely we"ll push a mobile build this week. We want a great build for you.

So it looks like there won"t be a new Windows 10 Mobile release this week at all. But while you"re waiting for the next build to arrive, check out some of what our readers have had to say about the most recent Insider Preview, build 10512, and if you"ve been testing it as well, be sure to have your say too.
