Microsoft offers Season Pass Guarantee program for Xbox One games

There are going to be lots of Xbox 360 gamers out there who will buy the Xbox One console later this fall and also buy games that have been ported to both consoles. Today, Microsoft announced that gamers, who buy certain Xbox 360 games that have Season Pass subscriptions, will not have to pay again to get the same Season Pass on the Xbox One version.

The program is called the Season Pass Guarantee and is described on the Xbox Wire website:

With Season Pass Guarantee, you can purchase a Season Pass for a participating Xbox 360 title and automatically receive access to download the equivalent Xbox One Season Pass.

Microsoft has already confirmed that the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of Activision"s Call of Duty Ghosts and Electronic Arts" Battlefield 4 will be among the games that will have the Season Pass Guarantee. Ubisoft will also have games that will be a part of the program, however specific titles were not revealed. Additional publishers, and their titles, that participate in the program will be revealed in the near future.

This new piece of news comes after Microsoft confirmed that Xbox 360 owners with Xbox Live subscriptions will be able to use the same account when using the Xbox One. Also, any Xbox Live Avatar content on the Xbox 360 can be moved to the Xbox One with additional support for "full-body HD gamerpics."

In related news, Microsoft and EA have announced that people who get the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 4 will be able to transfer their player stats over to the Xbox One version so they don"t have to start from scratch again. The same will go for people who pay for the PS3 version of Battlefield 4 when they move to the PS4 version.
