Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac, on sale today

Microsoft has released its latest Office suite for OS X today which provides a much needed update to the platform that was last updated in 2008.  Neowin has recently reviewed the software in-depth and you can read the full review here.

There are two packages available to OS X users, each with their own target market.  From the Microsoft website:

Work when and where you want from any computer with a browser and the Office Web Apps. And communicate and share with virtually anyone with the world’s most reliable Office for Windows compatibility. Designed and licensed for more advanced personal use, home-based work, and small business. Includes Outlook for Mac 2011 - $279.99

The latest Office package offers a plethora of updates that users will find helpful and intuitive.  If you"re using OS X, Office 2011 is a worthy upgrade to the aging 2008 release. With many new features, including better cross platform compatibility, Office 2011 makes for a great holiday gift to any Mac user.
