Microsoft Office 365 currently experiencing an outage [Update]

Microsoft has been heavily promoting its Office 365 online platform. For the most part, it has been well received by its users. But, as of today, Microsoft is currently facing its first disruption to the service.

The official Microsoft cloud twitter account began alerting users not long ago about how the service is currently experiencing difficulties. It is not known yet what has caused the outage or how long the service will be offline.

For many users of the Cloud, this is a real issue. As companies petition consumers and corporations to use cloud based services, outages such as these remind everyone that you are no longer in control of your data.

While this will only be a temporally outage for the service, Office 365 needs to be build its reliability credibility to be taken serious by corporations who Microsoft is looking to bring into their cloud.

At this time, the service is still down. There has not been an update as to when the service will return to normal. We will update this post when service is restored.

[Update] Microsoft is reporting that service has been restored.
