One bit of Windows 8 that has been circling around the web for sometime is the inclusion of an App store. We have seen the leaked slides and the little tidbits from the AllthingsD presentation but neither have come out and said, “we will have an app store”.
In the latest post on the B8 (Official BUILD blog), Steven Sinofsky has indicated that there is officially an App Store team. While this news isn’t ground breaking or previously unknown, it is the first public official acknowledgement of the team.
We are well aware that this information has been uncovered in the leaked information, but this post officially announces the team to the public. Exactly what the App store will look like, how it will function cross platform and how Microsoft will innovate with the App store is still unknown.
The post also lists many of the other teams that are behind Windows 8. As you can imagine, it takes many talented minds to put together a new operating system. The entire post can be read here.
We can expect to learn a lot more about Windows 8 with the upcoming BUILD conference in early September. Neowin will be on the ground at the event to bring you all the information revealed at the conference as it happens.
