Microsoft Innovation Centres will bring student certification to the country, which could be beneficial for those looking into work with Microsoft and its products. Local start-ups will also be happy to hear about the MIC expansion, for they can also provide support and foster their growth.
Microsoft has big plans for their Centres, with plans for 100+ by the end of 2014. Centres are to be opened at colleges and technological institues across four Indian states, focusing on mobility, cloud, Kinect, accessibility, healthcare and issues unique to India. "Mobility" and "cloud" in plain English? Windows Phone and Azure, most likely.
