Earlier this week, Microsoft released an update for its UWP Skype app, bringing a new design that ditches the hamburger menu. Today, the firm actually announced it, outlining some new features that are included.
First of all, there"s a new look, which oddly enough, doesn"t align with the new look on iOS and Android. The design is meant to allow you to "get to your calls and conversations faster"; you"ll be able to start conversations, see your profile, and access the dial pad from above your recent conversations.
Another improvement is that Skype now integrates with the Share UI in Windows 10, so you"ll be able to directly share photos, videos, and other files directly to the service.
Finally, one of the features that iOS and Android has already seen is message reactions, and now Windows 10 users can use them too. If you click on the reaction icon, you can choose to laugh, cry, express love or shock, and most importantly, sarcastically clap.
You can download or update Skype for Windows 10 from the Windows Store here.
