Microsoft possibly working on smaller and more efficient Xbox Series X chip

The Xbox Series X has been available for a while, and it seems like its first revision may be announced soon, possibly during a Microsoft event in June 2022. According to a new video by known insider Brad Sams, who"s currently the Vice President and General Manager of Stardock Software, Microsoft is working on a more efficient chip for the console.

Sams said the following on YouTube:

I believe this is true ... I know that Microsoft was working on revisions of the chip. Now, are we going to see performance improvements, are we going to see anything else? I do not believe so but Microsoft is always working on making cooler, more efficient chips because that lowers the cost of production. I believe it is accurate the Microsoft is working on a smaller, more power efficient chip. That is, I"m very confident in that.

It"s unclear if the outside design of the Xbox Series X will change. Smaller and more efficient chips reduce costs so this may just be an internal revision. However, if it needs to be cooled less, we may see a smaller Xbox Series X soon.

Recently, a white Series 2 Xbox Elite Controller was spotted at a retailer. It seems like Microsoft has a few hardware announcements in the works. Only time will tell what comes of the smaller chips for the Xbox Series X.
