According to Microsoft’s Kevin Unangst, it may soon be time to wipe off the dust from your Xbox 360 Kinect devices and get prepared for a host of new “hardcore” Kinect titles that are due for release later this year.
According to an interview conducted on the website CVG, Unangst, Microsoft’s senior producer of the company’s entertainment business, stated that there will be more and more core games on the way, and that this month"s spring showcase of titles was just the beginning of what will be heading gamers" way.
Regarding the lack of titles that have shown up for Kinect since launch, Unangst said, “This is sort of scratching the surface of what"s happening, but we"ve got Child of Eden here today, we"ve got Twisted Pixel"s Gunstringer... and certainly you"re going to see more.”
In a previous interview with CVG, Kevin Unangst also said that 2011 will be an incredible year for hardcore gamers in general on the Xbox 360, with games such as Batman: Arkham City, Homefront and more on the way. However, he failed to mention that they are multi-platform games too.
Either way, it looks as if there are a lot of unannounced core titles due for release on Xbox 360 Kinect over the course of the year, which is good news all round for gamers, especially with so few new titles having been officially announced so far. As Unangst says, "This is just the beginning."
