Late last year, Apple updated its line of MacBook Pro laptops most of which feature a new Touch Bar replacing the traditional row of function keys on the keyboard. The intent behind this feature was to provide users a new means through which to interact with applications via dynamic soft keys. Since its introduction, Microsoft took the opportunity to update Office for Mac 2016 with Touch Bar support, with the presentation of relevant or recently accessed commands in the Touch Bar being a common theme across the Office apps.
Now, Microsoft has turned its attention toward bringing Touch Bar support to Skype for Mac. In the most recent update, which brings the app up to version 7.48, the Touch Bar will now display call controls when engaged in a call. Buttons to toggle your video feed, mute the microphone, and hang up a call will be presented along with the call status in addition to the name and profile image of the other call participant.
Besides Touch Bar support, version 7.48 of Skype for Mac also includes general but unspecified fixes.
If you"ve not yet updated to the latest version, you can grab it from the Skype website with the download weighing in at around 45MB.
