Microsoft releases new Windows Phone tools for Nokia developers

Microsoft has released a new piece of Nokia/Windows Phone developer news today in the form of new tools that will help developers learn Windows Phone faster than ever before.

A post by JC Cimetiere on the official Windows Phone Developer Blog announced the release of a host of tools and educational materials, which have been created with Nokia’s Symbian Qt developers in mind.

Microsoft hopes that the set of tools and documents will help Nokia developers to quickly “ramp up” Windows Phone app development. The package includes:

The “Windows Phone Guide for Symbian Qt Application Developers” white paper consists of over 100 pages of information ranging from design guidelines to how to get the most out of the API Mapping Tool.
