Microsoft releases new firmware updates for the Surface Pro 3 - here's what's new

Microsoft is releasing a new round of firmware and driver updates for the Surface Pro 3. According to the Update History page, they were released on August 16; however, they only showed up on the page today.

The notes say that the collection of updates is only available for devices running the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, but anyone with the Creators Update should be able to download them as well. There are five changes listed, all adding support for the new Surface Pro Type Cover and Surface Pro Signature Type Covers.

According to Microsoft"s value indicator chart, these updates improve compatibility, and don"t affect security, reliability, connectivity, performance, or battery life. The driver bundle that Microsoft has available to download hasn"t been updated since June, but you can download it here.
