Microsoft releases 'Where's my app?' app for Windows Phone

Even though there are over 145,000 apps available for Windows Phone users to download, many popular apps for Android and iOS have yet to be ported over to Microsoft"s mobile OS. Today, Microsoft quietly released a new app for Windows Phone 7.5 and 8 users that is supposed to make finding apps easier.

This new app has the rather odd title "Where"s My app?".  As mentioned in the description on the Windows Phone Store site, this new app is not intended to be a full replacement for the store. Rather, it"s made to help Windows Phone owners search for popular Android and iOS apps to see if that same app is available for Windows Phone. If a direct port has not been released, the app will provide some possible alternatives.

If your favorite app has yet to be released for Windows Phone, this new app will also let you send requests for a port to developers (we would assume that polite requests are preferred). The app will also offer a notification if one of the top ten most requested Android or iOS apps finally makes its way to Windows Phone.
