At the beginning of this month, Microsoft finally released the first Windows 10 Redstone 5 Insider Preview for the Slow ring. Today, the firm has released Windows 10 build 17713.1002 to the ring, making it just the second Redstone 5 build with less than two months left of development before the feature update goes to RTM.
Microsoft took a different route this time than it did with build 17692. Back to its Build conference in May, the company said that it would start servicing builds to prepare them for the Slow ring, and this was supposed to result in more frequent builds. That serviced build ended up being build 17692.1004. This time around though, the cumulative update that brought it to 17713.1002 was tested in the Fast ring first.
It"s worth noting, however, that this build will break Windows Defender Application Guard, something you"ll probably be interested in if you"re testing it in a business setting.

Now, the only thing left is for Microsoft to publish an official ISO for Insiders to use for a clean install. There hasn"t been one for Redstone 5 yet, and in fact, this will be the first time that there"s never been an ISO published from the RS_PRERELEASE branch, as development has shifted from RS_PRERELEASE to RS5_RELEASE, so make way for new 19H1 builds that are coming.
Windows 10 Redstone 5 will likely be finalized in September, for an October release.
