Microsoft releases Windows 10 build 21301.1010 and adds a known issue

Today, Microsoft is releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview build 21301.1010 to Insiders on the Dev channel. It"s a cumulative update for build 21301.1000, and once again, it"s only to test out the servicing pipeline, meaning that there are no new features.

These servicing pipeline updates aren"t uncommon at all, but they seem to be particularly common lately. There are no new features, but that doesn"t mean that nothing has changed. For example, an update released a couple of weeks ago broke x64 emulation on ARM64 PCs.

Microsoft added a known issue today as well; however, it"s not actually tied to today"s cumulative update. This issue was in the original build, and it was found after it was released. The issue is that some people are getting green screen failures when attempting to install the build.

Some Insiders have reported that their PC experiences PC an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bugcheck when attempting to upgrade to Build 21301. We are working on a fix and will let you know when it’s included in an upcoming flight.

The good news is that there will likely be a new build in just a couple of days. New Dev channel builds usually show up on Wednesdays at 10am PT.
