The Windows Insider team is having a pretty busy day today. Along with a new Windows 10 Insider Preview in the Fast ring and a preview for a whole new version of Windows Server, there"s also a new SDK Preview. Windows 10 SDK Preview build 17120 coincides with the Slow ring build that was released four days ago.
There"s really not a lot that"s new in this SDK. After all, we"re just weeks, if not days away from Windows 10 Redstone 4 being finalized, which means that the final SDK is coming soon as well. You can expect to continue to see these new previews alongside of Slow ring releases, but don"t expect new features until Redstone 5.
As usual, the SDK is only formally supported for use with Visual Studio 2017, and you can use it alongside other versions of the SDK. That means that you can use this in a production environment, as long as your app targets an earlier version of Windows 10, being that the Microsoft Store isn"t accepting Redstone 4 submissions yet.
Finally, you"ll be able to install this on any supported Windows operating system. Some previous SDK Preview builds have only worked on Insider Previews, but that"s not the case with build 17120. This issue may return though, as it seems to come and go.
