Nearly three months after the release of its previous version, Microsoft has finally released the update to Windows Server, dubbed as Windows Server 2016 Technical Preview 3. Last week, the ISO files of this build leaked online, soon after, screenshots of build 10514 emerged as well, leading to the official release of the long-awaited update today.
Microsoft also published the release notes of Windows Server Technical Preview 3, which includes Windows Server Containers which are an isolated, resource-controlled, and portable operating environment. Furthermore, the update also contains Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) and Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), which will help organizations provide better identity management experiences on devices as well as configure the latter to improve authentication techniques.
Changes have also been made to Hyper-V or Scale-out File Server failover cluster so that it can now easily be upgraded without any downtime. Microsoft has also improved the Windows Server Antimalware , support for OpenGL and OpenCL applications MultiPoint Services has been integrated into Remote Desktop Services for Windows Server Technical Preview. Improvements have also been made to File and Storage Services, Web Application Proxy, Windows PowerShell 5.0 and Networking.
You can download Windows Server 2016 Technical Preview right now, but as with any preview software release, the company advises that you only install it in a testing environment .
