Microsoft Research releases Face Mask for Windows Phone

It was only a couple days ago that Microsoft Research published Face Swap to the Marketplace and the crew is at it again with Face Mask for Windows Phone. As the name suggests, it is very similar to Face Swap but allows you to add a mask to a photo for simple enjoyment or for privacy too.

The application is available now in the Marketplace and is free. Microsoft description for the application is below:

Face Mask is a magic tool that enhances your pictures with cool effects. Just take a picture, and add a mask either by a tap or through a shaking gesture. Photos can be saved to your photo library or shared directly on Facebook, Twitter or Sina Weibo.

The application is for novelty use as you might suspect, while not the most impressive item to come out of the research department at Microsoft, it is another quirky application for the Windows Phone platform.

There are a total of 20 masks/stickers that you can choose from, multiple face detection is supported and by shaking the phone randomly change the mask.

You can download the application here.
